Tips for facilitating a family workshop

The aim is not to test participants. It is to understand why a situation may seem convincing and to compare possible responses.

  1. Choose the pace

Set aside 15–20 minutes for the discovery quiz. Allow 45–60 minutes for the extended kit or spread it over four sessions.

  2. Let people choose

Read the scenario and options aloud. Everyone can vote alone, in pairs, or pass without explaining why.

  3. Discuss the trap

Before the debrief, ask what made each choice tempting. Let generations compare views without a leaderboard.

  4. Agree on one action

Choose one or two habits to practise. Never ask anyone to reveal a password, security code or personal experience.

A question to restart discussion: “What if this were real?” Scenarios are fictional and explanations are for learning, not blame.
